Job Summary

A Brand Manager leads the strategic development and execution for key brand lines of business that are the primary growth opportunities for the brand.  Understand the consumer needs and wants and leverage to create winning consumer strategies for communications and product positioning/development.  Define strategies and translate those strategies into initiatives that will result in accelerated share and profit growth through focused and holistic marketing plans, enrolling and aligning leaders at all levels in the plans.  Analyze syndicated and panel data to uncover opportunities or threats and work with the sales teams to create and implement action plans.  Work closely with consumer insights, product development, sales, and manufacturing to optimize product lines and deliver sustainable profit growth.

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop brand positioning, advertising, pricing and new product strategies
  • Collaborate to understand, align and activate against target consumer behavior and insights
  • Create and align senior management to multi-year brand strategic plans
  • Develop and align annual marketing plan
  • Provide oversight of annual marketing plan execution. Integrate activities of key departments
  • Evaluate progress against plan and recommend corrective action as needed
  • Identify opportunities and implement plans for line extensions and new product introductions
  • Analyze consumer trends and research data
  • Maximize profitability of assigned product lines
  • Monitor timelines and effectiveness of tactical plan execution
  • Control the consumer marketing budget
  • Develop and implement annual brand plans
  • Assist marketing in reviewing the activities of external agencies
  • Actively manage P&L variances to attain annual and long-range financial objectives
  • Analyze brand business results and marketplace dynamics to provide on-going marketing mix recommendations
  • Frequently communicate opportunities and risks
  • Assist in the development and communication of effective trade customer strategies
  • Identify opportunities and implement plans for line extensions and new product introductions
  • Lead development of the brand management organization and player-coaching of Associate Brand Managers and interns

Position Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of consumer product brand management experience, preferably in the food industry
  • Experience managing multiple projects at once in a fast paced, matrix management environment
  • MBA required
