Sr Systems Analyst - Finance Reporting

Conagra Brands is building a new culture and IT capabilities to enable business value and support the overall strategy.  The role of Senior Systems Analyst, Financial Reporting, is focused on delivery of key reporting initiatives, leading delivery of finance reporting, innovation, exploring modern technologies. This position will utilize advanced data analytics with the approach of Agile and Dev Ops methodologies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Recommend, lead, implement and/or test process changes and system solutions to meet business requirements. 

    • Understand business requirements or issues with current process and perform gap analysis in reporting and forecasting environment:

    • Recommend process and/or technology improvements to modernize and optimize current environment. 

    • Map out current vs to be process 

    • Lead effort to estimate delivery ETA. 

    • Evaluate risk of effort based on both difficulty and impact of change. 

    • Recommend best course of action 

    • Create or lead creation of functional and technical specifications.  Specifications will detail out business description of change and describe exactly what is changing in the systems at object and code level. 

    • Oversee execution of technical specification.  

    • Lead design and execution of manually and/or automated test scripts. 

    • Guide business stakeholders through testing of system changes. 

    • Creation and coordination of production implementation of system changes:

    • Alignment with business 

    • Coordinate review with architecture group 

    • Receive approval from CAB 

    • Test change upon migration to production 


    Owns architectural solution paths for both technical and business problems and needs in the Finance Reporting space. 

    • Understanding of industry trends in the analytics space. Including dashboarding, machine learning, cloud, machine learning / AI, in-memory computing, predictive and prescriptive reporting. 

    • Map modern technologies and trends to current and forward-looking business opportunities and challenges. 

    • Provide forward looking technical-functional roadmap for the Finance Reporting space. 

    Ability to analyze SAP financial data based on functional issues/opportunities raised by business partners and lead the support team to resolution.  Will require utilization of:  

    • SAP BW transactions like RSA1, Listcube, Etc. to analyze data and ETL issues 

    • HANA Studio 

    • Bex Query designer 

    • Analysis for Office (SAP Business Objects) 

    Ensures health of Financial Reporting service, via collaboration and alignment with support team and management alike.   

    • Functional and Technical ownership of the Financial Reporting end user reporting environment- Data models, Bex Reports, Analysis for Office forecasting templates and dashboards. 

    • Mentor and develop junior level employees. 

    • Ability to tell the story of what numbers represent to analysts and management alike. 

    • Oversee development of Data models, ETLs, Reports and forecasting templates. 

    • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation 

    • Assist with tracking and influencing IT Outsourcer service performance and escalation 

    • Support the IT Outsourcer for critical incident resolution 

    • Partners across IT and the business to support agile application development, DevOps and short-cycle iterations to deliver continuous business value. 

    • Oversees and provides guidance to IT Outsourcer for application administration, development and configuration.  Accountable to adherence for support metrics. 

    • Financial Controls: Execute timely and accurate time tracking of all work hours. Contribute to accurate estimation of work activities and tasks. 

Position Qualifications

  • Required: 


    Preferred Technical Skills: 

    • Bachelor's degree required. Computer Science/Engineering, MIS and/or Finance preferred. 

    • 5+ year experience in an Information Technology role or equivalent. 

    • Hands on experience supporting and delivering enterprise reports. 

    • General knowledge of SAP BW HANA data modeling and ETL concepts. 

    • Experience supporting a reporting and forecasting process. 

    • Experience working with an offshore or third-party delivery model. 

    • Ability to interface with business to gather requirements and align on status and in turn work with delivery team on technical details. 

    • Ability to manage tasks of self and delivery team 

    • Excellent communication skills 

    • Excel data analysis skills. 

    • Finance reporting experience 

    • Consumer Packaged Goods experience 

    • Experience with SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) 

    • Expert level in delivering SAP BW (HANA) based reporting. 

    • Proficient in writing and troubleshooting SQL code.  HANA SQL preferred. 

    • Experience with SAP Business Objects (BOBJ) Analysis for Office. 

    • Experience building dashboards: PowerBI or equivalent.
